No creative is complete without the support of those around them. Which is why, this week, we want to turn the spotlight on those wonderful small business owners that reserve shelf space to showcase Lamai Anne’s prints. After all, what better way to see Lamai’s works in the flesh than surrounded by other amazing art, homewares and décor?

Green Door Décor

Located in Mt Gambier, South Australia, Green Door Décor came about in 2015 with the desire to exhibit art – as well as a range of cards, textiles, stationery, décor and jewellery – that is interesting, affordable and Australian made (yay for supporting local!). The artists, illustrators and graphic designers shop owner Annie picks to work with are also a representation of different styles which compliment, rather than compete against each other, as well as those that would suit a variety of spaces – from nurseries to open plan living areas.

Flamingo and Sass

A collaboration between two businesses, Pink Flamingo and SASS + Co, the aptly named Flamingo and Sass is a lifestyle concept store that delivers beautiful furniture, décor, soft furnishings, jewellery and art to Canberra. Owners Christine and Jacqui specialise in sourcing creating unique and truly stunning pieces for you and your home. Plus, they’re located in the uber cool Fyshwick Niche Markets (home to local, artisan traders that feature everything from fashion and jewellery to homewares, flowers and food), so there’s even more reason to pay them a visit.

The Picture Box

Based in Melbourne, The Picture Box has been an integral part of the cultural fabric of the inner northern suburbs for over 35 years. As well as custom framing, they display an eclectic range of original art and prints that have been handpicked over time to create an ever-evolving collection with contemporary edge. Oh, and they also do a killer job at custom picture framing.

The Clevedon Woolshed

The Clevedon Woolshed is nestled in the busy rural village of – you guessed it – Clevedon, south east of Auckland, New Zealand. Having first opened its doors nearly 30 years ago, the small but special shop specialises in showcasing talented New Zealanders with a wide variety of art, knitwear, skincare, toys and souvenirs to suit all ages, tastes and budgets. Aren’t we glad Lamai is both a Kiwi and an Aussie?

Alapash

Lamai Anne has hit the states! Isn’t that exciting. Based in Chicago, Illinois, Alapash offers a curated assortment of terrariums and other botanical inspired home-accent items such as beautiful vases, handwoven tapestries, wonderfully scented candles and plant art. Owner Marco loves to display products made with care, skill and respect – and this is reflected in the selection of local, globally made or fair-trade goods. The beautiful collection of air plants and succulents are enough for a visit, but more than likely the vibrant colours and earthy tones will have you leaving with something new for your home.
